Evaluasi Kualitas Perairan Berdasarkan Diversitas Dan Struktur Komunitas Plankton Pada Kolam Bekas Tambang Batu Bara Yang Terdapat Aktivitas Keramba Ikan Di Tenggarong Seberang

ABSTRACT.The objectives of this research are (1) to describethe condition of water quality based on physco-chemical parameter, and (2) to determine plankton deversity and community structure in ex-coal mining pond with and without fish keramba activity. This research was conducted from October until June 2015 in two pond with and without fish keramba activity on it using random sampling technique. Plankton net was used to collect zooplankton and phytoplankton contained in 50 litre of water. The result shows that there are three classes of phytoplankton belonging to l4 families and 26 genera founded in ex-coal mining pond, while zooplankton in the pond is only two classes consisted of two families and four genera. By the Shannon-Wienner Diversity Indeks (H’), plankton diversity in-coal mining pond without fish keramba activities is higher than pond with kerambas,namely 2.4008 and 2.1195 respectively. it mean that the water quality in both ex-coal mining pond is moderate.Based on Simpson’s Dominance Indeks (D), there is no dominance of the plankton spescies in both ex-coal mining pond.
